Next Stop: Montreal

In a few short days, I pack up my car and embark on a Memorial Day weekend road trip. My destination? Montreal, Canada!

For the past few years, I’ve been dreaming about Montreal. In my reverie, it represents a little piece of Europe right here in North America, with charming cobblestone streets, dim and seductive jazz clubs and quaint cafes perfect for people watching. I’ve imagined devouring piping hot morsels of poutine– hand-cut deep-fried potatoes dripping with brown gravy and squeaky cheese curds. And I’ve been eager to cross off item #24 on my 55 Places Bucket List: Have a cappuccino at a café in Vieux-Montréal.

In a week, my daydreams will become reality and I look forward to seeing all that Montreal has to offer using the lovely Omni Mont-Royal as my home base. Stay tuned for a hotel review, itinerary suggestion and 55 Places follow-up post after I return.
