29 Jul Packing List: A Weekend at the Beach
Beach Bag Essentials:
- A roomy beach bag
- Your favorite pair of sunglasses
- Sunscreen (stick with SPF 30 or higher)
- A beachy hat
- 1 book and/or a couple magazines (don’t over pack… chances are you’ll read less than you expect.)
- Portable iPod speakers… handy for the beach and the room!
- iPod (loaded with our Ultimate Beach Playlist)
- Camera (don’t forget your chargers and extra batteries)
- Beach Towel
- Snacks
Clothing:
- 2 bathing suits (to ensure that you’ll always have a dry suit)
- Beach cover-up
- 1 pair hearty flip flops (I like Reefs… especially the ones with the bottle openers on the bottom!)
- 1 pair nicer sandals
- 2 tops – day
- 2 tops – night
- 1 pair shorts
- 1 skirt (or slacks)
- 1 pair jeans
- A cardigan / hoodie (for those chilly ocean breezes)
- 1 pair pajamas
- Enough undergarments to get you through the weekend
Toiletries:
- Sleep Kit (eye mask, ear plugs, travel alarm clock, etc.)
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Razor
- Shampoo/ Conditioner combo (makes a fab impromptu shaving cream/ shower gel as well!)
- Extra hair ties and barrettes
- Deodorant
- Any needed eye care (drops, saline solution, etc.)
- Meds (Advil, birth control, etc etc.)
Makeup (for all you lovely ladies!)
With your bronze glow, you won’t need much makeup to make an impression. Stick with a natural color palette and go with just a few staples, such as:
- Eye shadow
- Blush
- Lip gloss
- Mascara
Finally, if you are driving and can spare the space, it’s great to bring:
- A cooler
- A case of water. (Grab what’s on special and save the money when you get to your destination.)
These items should all easily fit in a small carry-on sized bag and your beach bag. Surf’s up! |
Have I forgotten any essentials? What’s in your beach bag?

Posted at 19:29h, 31 JulyThis is my kind of list! You can't beat Reefs built in bottle opener!
One thing I did notice missing from the list…the booze!

but how many is enough? that’s the point of the list! you could have just said “enough stuff to get you through the weekend” and been done with it.

Posted at 12:13h, 02 June@harvey Thanks for your feedback. Personally, undergarments are a bit of an individual preference, especially at the beach where many wardrobe changes can occur during the day. If you have found a number that works for you- please share! 🙂

Posted at 06:54h, 24 JuneOh, good point! Make-up remover is a must-pack… Particularly at the beach when you want to avoid raccoon-eyes.
