Snapshot of the Week: Maryland Sunrise

This week, I’m keeping it in the family. The Snapshot of the Week is generously provided by JoAnn Ricchiuti, my mother with a keen eye for beautiful places. Always with a camera in hand, I learned everything I know about photography from her.

Sunrise, my favorite time of the day! I have found that you don’t have to travel too far from home to experience the awe of nature and forget that you are just driving into work and not in some exotic locale.
Early morning can present inspirational opportunities that “take you away” from normal monotony. For a brief period, these changing colors of nature turn the sky from black to gray to red, to orange to pink and then back to a dull blue or gray. A minute late and it disappears as if it never existed.
