Snapshot of the Week: Florence, Italy

Snapshot of the Week: Florence, Italy

Ah, Italia. Firenze is easily my favorite city in all of Italy… and maybe in all of Europe! I love the charming cobblestone streets, the artsy Oltrarno district, the food (oh, the food!), Brunelleschi’s Duomo and the fact that for a city made of stone, it still maintains a warmth and feeling of life. It’s beauiful from dusk to dawn. This photo was taken from the famous Ponte Vecchio, at my favorite time of day: sunset.

After the jump, you’ll find a few more of my favorite Florence pics, taken from the Piazzale Michelangelo.

The Ponte Vecchio takes center stage, bridging Florence’s city center with the Oltrarno on the left.

The Palazzo Vecchio tower is on the left, and the Duomo and Bapistry is on the right.
